Fair trade clothing

It just isn’t fair that our American companies outsource their production and manufacturing of goods in other countries where the people are not paid a fair living wage and their work conditions are very unhealthy. These companies outsource so Americans can buy lots of stuff for the lowest prices and then throw it away so they can buy more stuff. Its a vicious cycle that will not change until people become aware of how their buying patterns affect other people, our environment, and the world economy as a whole. There are many companies out there that are working towards change by marketing themselves as fair trade companies; they pay their employees a fair living wage and provide safe and healthy working conditions in exchange for their labor. For clothing you can choose Fair Indigo or American Apparel, for coffee you can choose Peace Coffee or Just Coffee Cooperative, and for chocolate you can choose Dagoba or Equal Exchange. I have just named a few, but there are sooooo many more fair trade companies out there.
